How to put section on the side for links to photo albums

    Just getting started with all this, and admit to lack of familiarity with terms and words. Maybe is already covered, if so, sorry.
    In addition to “categories”, “recent”, “archives,” “links,” etc, I would like to have a separate section on the side with links to photo albums. How can I do this?
    By the way, what do you call those sections along the side?

    you can use the text widget and add in html codes linking to the photo albums

    those sections along the side is called widgets
