How to re-start a deleted blog with wordpress.com

  I deleted my blog with wordpress.com, but I now want to re-start it. When I choose “Create a Blog” under the “My Blogs” tab, and I fill in the blog name, it says that “the site already exists.” When I open a new tab in my browser and go to that site, it says that “the authors have deleted this site” (which I think is referring to me). I think that somehow the site isn’t freed up yet, but it’s also not attached to me anymore because it’s not listed under my blogs. It seems to be in limbo. I’d like to restart the blog. Is there anything that I can do?

  What is the URL starting with http:// ?
  Without it we cannot help.

  Deleted blog URLs are not recycled here regardless of who created and deleted them and you can confirm by reading: http://en.support.wordpress.com/recycling-blog-names/

  http://en.support.wordpress.com/register-a-blog/

  Or you can register a domain via a domain mapping upgrade and it will not matter what the underlying .wordpress.com address is.

  This page http://en.support.wordpress.com/recycling-blog-names/ says that they “cannot, under any circumstances, allow someone to take over the address of a blog that was previously owned and deleted by its original/previous owner.” But I am the original owner. I’m not asking to take over someone else’s URL.

  It takes ignoring several warnings that deletion of a blog URL is permanent and cannot be reversed and then clicking a verification link in an email to delete a blog. As I said above it does not matter whether or not your registered that URL – you deleted the URL and it’s forever gone.
