How to reclaim a deleted permalink?

  I once had a contact page: http://runbarefootrunhealthy.wordpress.com/contact/

  In a moment of confusion, I created a duplicate contact page, and then realizing my mistake, deleted (what turned out to be) the original.

  Now I am unable to create a page with the URL in my first line. Each time I try to recreate a Contact page with that address, it resolves to http://runbarefootrunhealthy.wordpress.com/contact-2/ or http://runbarefootrunhealthy.wordpress.com/contact-3/ and so on.

  Is http://runbarefootrunhealthy.wordpress.com/contact/ lost to me forever?

  My guess is you only sent the original to the trash. If so, go to Pages > All Pages, click “Trash”, hover under the title of the trashed page, click Restore to get it back or click Delete Permanently to free its URL.
