    Hi,

If the new site is a WordPress.org site, then you can purchase Site Redirect. See the Site Redirect support page. I think this will do the trick, but I’m not sure if it’ll work redirect to a self-hosted non-WordPress.org site, so I’ll add a tag to the sidebar of this topic to call for staff attention.

  • Hi there,

The site redirect is the correct way to send your traffic from the WordPress.com site to the new domain. However, if the new site does not have the same content as the old WordPress.com site people might find a Page not found error when they reach the new page, as the site redirect will try to redirect to the same post on the new site. There is no way to force it to always redirect to the other site’s home page.
