How to reduce domain confusion??

    Hey,

I am hoping this is an easy fix, or remedy… I have been working with this client for a while, first moving from WP.org to WP.com, then having to rebuild the site because I deleted a backend…and that leads us to here… I set up a demo site, so that I could try another theme, and after a week, people were up in arms because I had adopted the demo site for the client’s main site. What happened though, is that I took the demo, reverted it to the previous look, with all the accompanied tweaks, so that now the main site is based on the demo. Everything works, it’s good, etc.

I have a difficult client for this account, whom I made an editor on the first wordpress.com site, https://equinoxpdx.wordpress.com/. I am willing to make her an editor for the current backend site, eqpdxdemo.wordpress.com, which is the basis for the site equinoxpdx.com site, but…I need to know if it is safe deleting the first site, https://equinoxpdx.wordpress.com/.

    Thanks,

    Steve

Don’t know if I understand what I wrote, but if you catch the general drift, perhaps we can talk…sorry.

The bottom line is…”I need to know if it is safe deleting the first site, https://equinoxpdx.wordpress.com/.” I did this once before, but maybe not the same exact circumstances, and it was bad, because I eliminated the admin backend of the current site. Since these are copies, I don’t think I should hit the same wall…would I?!

    Thanks,

    STeve

Set the old site to “Private”

Dashboard >> Settings >> Reading >> Visible to only those I choose

Then there is no risk of loosing the old site and the contents –

Thanks for the quick response, Auxclass! I did that, and think I am going to just turn it into a theme test site, like I have for some other sites.

You be welcome – many people use old sites for theme testing and practice
