How to regain my WordPress.com URL from a deleted site
-
I had created a free WordPress .com site, but I later deleted it thinking I could just reuse the URL name later; however, when I try to enter the URL on the ‘Let’s Find a Domain’ screen, it tells me that the site URL is unavailable and when I go to the domain address I get a message stating that ‘MY_SITE_URL is no longer available. The authors have deleted this site.’
Since I’m the author, shouldn’t there be a way for me to reuse the URL that I created?
Any assistance would be appreciated.
Thanks!

Deleted blog URLs are not recycled, regardless of who registered and deleted them and the only exceptions are made are for URLs that were deleted 2 or more years ago. http://en.support.wordpress.com/recycling-blog-names/
You can register another .wordpress.com blog http://en.support.wordpress.com/register-a-blog/
Then if you wish to you can register a domain via a domain mapping upgrade because it does not matter what the underlying .wordpress.com address is when you are domain mapping.
