How to register a deleted wordpress blog

As I viewing some of the wordpress blogs(like typing names) I see many blogs are deleted. But I cannot register them(the url). I don’t like my username and I want to register a new username, but I like my blog and want to keep it, so I’m thinking about delete the blog first then register the blog with a new username, I did a test, for some reason the blog is deleted, but I cannot register the blog url. For example, I deleted “missfullmoon.wordpress.com” But I try to register it with a new username, it says” sorry the blog already exist”… so wordpress does archive blogs huh?
I guess it cannot be helped..or is there a way?

I think you are confusing username with blog url.
If you want to change your username, use a separate email address to register with wordpress.com. Then, using the old username, add the new username as an administrator on the blog. Once that is done, you can delete the old username.
As for the url of the blog, deltafoxtrot is correct and that is why the delete email is very specific on making sure that you want to delete the name.
Finally, you can title your blog anything you want but the blog url won’t change to the new title.

One last thing: if you are unhappy with your blog url, spend a few bucks and get your own domain and map it to your blog.
