how to register a ‘.wordpress.com’ domain

    In the past I’ve been able to register a domain ending in ‘.wordpress.com’ for free but am not seeing this option as I try to set up a new blog today. Could anyone advise as to whether this option is still available, and if so how to do that?

    I assume your options end in “.home.blog” or something similar? My suggestion is when you’re setting up the blog select “Professional” when they ask you what the blog is for. This make virtually no difference, but I’ve done it and got a .wordpress.com after doing a “Blogging” one and getting “.home.blog” and similar.

    During Step 2: of the site creation process, you’ll select Blog for a .home.blog free site or Business for a .wordpress.com site.
