How to register companies and then search for them in the front end

    I need that companies are able to register by form as users.
    Then the regular users (not registered or logged in) need to be able to search those companies by area and or category.

    Hi @marinerdrums, you’ll probably need a plugin, and there are several that include this as a feature set.

    Is this for a job board? If so, there are plugins that will handle that and more.

    Or if it’s for a marketplace, there are plugins for that too. Let us know and we’ll point you in the right direction if we can.

    Thanks for this first response.

    It is not an ecommerce, it is just a searchable companies list.

    VISITORS
    A visitor is looking for a shop or a service (like barber, bakery, doctor and so on)
    this should come from a provided dropdown categories list, in a specific area or location (pre defined zone or town, two different fields not mandatory to fill by dropdown field)..

    The visitor doesn’t need to be registered, the companies only do that to show theirselves in the search results.

    The visitor in the search page can search for:
    area (zone or town for instance, the choice is by dropdown list)
    or/and
    category (barber, bakery..) also this list is by a predefined by admin dropdown field)

    The result is a table listing the companies according by the search parameters.

    Clicking on a name of the list, the shop/company page/profile will be displayed.

    On top of that it will be nice to have a map where clicking on an area I can send the query like I was using the search form.

    COMPANIES
    The companies who desire to be listed on this site, they must register themselves by a custom form, where they can input their data including the name of the shop/company and a logo if they like.
    Some field will be mandatory like the zone, the town and the category.

    Once registered, and perhaps approved by the admin, they are in the search list.

    That’s it.

    It sounds like a business directory plugin would be the best option for you here. You can see what’s available in this category in the WordPress.org plugin directory here:

    I suggest you look at those, and especially the ones nearer the top, and see what features each offers. If you have questions about any specific plugin, please post directly to that plugin’s forum on WordPress.org so the plugin developer can help you.

    Some of those might include a portal for companies to register and submit their own listings. Otherwise you can also use a separate contact or registration form.
