How to release domain name after cancellation

    I cancelled my domain name and plan purchase because I needed an email address with the website and I know WP don’t provide this service. How long will it take for my domain name to be released for repurchase?

    Hi @katasana, actually we do offer email options:
    http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/add-email/

    So, if you intend to use the domain here with our services, please go ahead and buy the plan and skip the domain option. Then update us here.

    Otherwise, you can wait about five days for the domain to be released so you can purchase it with your new provider.

    We can also restore it here if you need to access it sooner. You’ll be able to point it to the new service, but it will be 60 days before you can transfer the registration itself. If you want that option, let us know and we’ll send an invoice for the cost of the domain.
