How to remove a blog post from the main page but have it remain in archives

  I’m trying to figure out how to remove an older blog post from the main page but have it remain in the archives. In looking at the forum, most responses to this question have suggested going to the dashboard, then “settings”, then setting the “read” option to whatever number of posts I want displayed. HOWEVER, when I go to “settings”, I see now “read” menu (only “General”, “Writing”, “Discussion”, “Analytics”, “SEO”, “Import” and “Export”). Where do I find the “Read” menu (or is it buried somewhere else in the interface)?
