How to remove ads from free WordPress

    Hi – I have been a WordPress user for a long time, but since the start of this year, have noticed a tremendous increase in the number of ads on my website. I read that WordPress ads should only appear ‘at the bottom of posts, in a sidebar, or as a banner on your site,’ however I am seeing ads even within the posts itself. This is terribly distracting. I have no plugins (aside from ‘JetPack’) and my anti-virus and anti-ad is running normal. Could you please advise further? Thank you

    The only way to remove ads from your free wordpress.com site, is by upgrading to a paid plan, https://wordpress.com/pricing/
