How to remove 'Author' at the bottom of posts?
-
Hi,
Please take a look at this link. https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/removal-of-about-author-at-the-bottom-of-posts?replies=5#post-991658
Any ideas please on removing the ‘Author’ from the bottom of my posts. It seems to be a new addition?
Regards,
Nigel

Hey there,
To remove the author bio, you’ll need to use Custom CSS, a portion of the Custom Design upgrade. If you decide to purchase this upgrade, let me know, and I’ll give you the CSS you need to accomplish this.

P,
Thank you for the reply.
You’ve got to be joking! I have to pay for something, to remove something, that was not originally there when I signed up with WordPress.com. Where is the fairness in that? Sounds and looks like day light robbery to me. Surely that is not the ethos WordPress started out with!
I did try at hosting my own site (WP.org), but it got a bit complex, so I decided to go back to the menu option of WP.com, as it was simpler. Now your going all complex too!

At this time it is a feature of your theme, which would need to be hidden by CSS if you wanted to remove it.
Some themes, like Twenty Eleven, only display the author line if your blog has multiple users. Since you’re the only user on your blog, the author line won’t display on these themes.

Happiness Engineer,
Love the title :-)
OK, found a way to tweak it. It’s generated from my Gravatar, so to remove ‘Author’, just have no comment in ‘About Me’. SIMPLES!
Thank you both for your input.

Nigel
