How to remove background colour from header
-
Hello –
I want to remove the colour from the header – it currently shades the header image greyish (the image is of 3 books). Any help is appreciated, especially non-coding help, as I am not an experienced web-person, I really just want to post our book club books online!
Thanks so much in advance.

Hi there!
The Header on your current theme (Ixion) is designed with that dark overlay so you can display some text on it (your site’s tagline) and have it be easy to read. Without the overlay, white text would get lost on a light or white header image.
Your site isn’t using a tagline though, so I understand why you want to remove it :)
Eliminating the overlay would require a bit of Custom CSS – which is part of a Premium Plan or Business Plan.
With one of those plans, you could open My Site > Customize > CSS and add the following snippet:
.header-overlay:before{ display: none; }Let me know how it works if you give it a try!
