How to remove black banners with cubic theme

    Hello,

Just wondering if you can help me on my page.. On the display theme, the boxes are all perfectly aligned and do not have this thick black banner framing the photos. Not sure if it is a setting I have clicked or played around with but I would love for my main page of blogs to all align and if possible not have that black banner framing the feature images.. It makes my page look messy..

    Thanks in advance

The images you are using are too small and the theme is inserting them at full size, but that still isn’t enough to fill the available space. The fact that the images are too small can be seen if you look at this post: http://livingwanderlust.com/2015/04/21/naples/ . See how pixelated and blurry that photo looks?

According to the Cubic Theme Showcase page, under Quick Specs at the bottom of that page, featured images need to be 2000px wide by 1500px high. If your images are that size, the issues you describe will go away.

Isn’t 2000 x 1500 a pretty big image for web use? Am I missing something (sorry, am a newbie).

Probably not if it’s being used at full-browser width for whatever reason. And you can still optimize it.
