How to remove blogging-related sections
-
Hi
How do I remove the blogging-related words from my ABOUT page?
If you scroll down on the ABOUT page you’ll see:
“EDIT, One thought on “About”, Pingback: May 2016 events | PEN South Africa EDIT, Comments are closed.”I want to delete all this stuff.
Please help :)
Thanks

Hi Darryl,
I had a look at this page – https://meltoncapetown.org/about/ – and it looks like you managed to remove the comment box there already. But just in case, this support guide explains how to remove the comment box from published posts and pages:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/enable-and-disable-comments-for-published-posts-and-pages/
The “Edit” link you can see at the bottom of the page is only visible to you when you’re signed into WordPress.com.

Thanks so much for the response but I gave you the wrong website…SORRY!
The correct URL is
https://jewishliteraryfestival.co.za/about/ -
Ah, ok. That’s a pingback which you can delete here:
https://jewishliteraryfestivaldotcodotza.wordpress.com/wp-admin/edit-comments.php
You can also disable pingbacks altogether at Settings > Discussion in the WordPress.com Dashboard:
https://wordpress.com/settings/discussion/jewishliteraryfestival.co.za
Deselect the option next to “Allow link notifications from other blogs …”.

Hi again.
I have another question:
if you go to
https://jewishliteraryfestival.co.za
There is a date stamp just above the picture gallery.
How do I get rid of that please? -
You can remove that with CSS code. Open the Customizer for your site:
https://jewishliteraryfestivaldotcodotza.wordpress.com/wp-admin/customize.php
Then click “CSS” and paste in the following:
.entry-meta {
display:none;
