How to remove "category" from pages

  • Unknown's avatar

I have a blog with different topics. I created categories so each post will be on the main page, but on each category as well. WELL, I get this huge “Category: Fashion” title at the top that looks ridiculous. Any way to remove that or at least move it so it is not the first thing people see?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi there,

Yes, you can remove Category widget from home page.
Go to My Site->Personalise->Customize theme ->Widget ->Primary Sidebar -> Select Category Widget and remove it.
To know more about widgets please refer this link: https://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/

    Hope this helps!
    Thanks.

Go to My Site -> Personalize -> Customize -> Content Options and deselect “Display Categories”.

See if that solves the problem.

  • Hi there,

The title at the top of category pages can only be removed using custom CSS code, and you need to be on the Premium or Business Plan to use that.

Always make sure you understand the question before replying :) The OP is asking about the title that appears at the top of a category page, not about a widget, and not about categories that are listed on individual posts in certain themes – content options can hide those only, not the titles on category pages themselves.
