How to remove classic editor completely?
-
Hello! I am using the new Gutenberg editor, but some of my old posts are still on the classic editor, where I can’t add an FAQ and other blocks. How can I transfer old posts to the new editor in WordPress.org? Thanks!
I don’t have a site linked to this WordPress.com account

Hi there,
The posts are just content – HTML and text. They don’t themselves contain code for a particular editor, so there’s no need to transfer posts from one editor to another. Whichever editor set as default on your site is the one your posts will open in when you edit them.
If you open any post originally written with the classic editor, in the block editor, the post’s content will automatically appear inside a classic block instead. That block has an option to convert the content into blocks, which will then automatically try to select the correct blocks for the content that’s there.
But unless you want to make changes to those posts by adding additional blocks, that’s not really necessary. The classic block is part of the block editor, and exists specifically to ensure backwards-compatibility of the block editor with older content, and should continue to be supported in the editor for some time to come.
If you have more questions about this, I recommend you ask in the WordPress.org community forums instead, as the people there are the ones who make the WordPress software, including the block editor :)
