how to remove / delete "protected" heading from a password protected post?

My pages and posts are password-protected, but there is an annoying and very distracting title / heading that proclaims this special status on every single protected page — which I would like very much like to get rid of. Please can someone tell me how?

Judging by how difficult it was to find any insight to this problem (save for code fixes for wordpress.org users), I’m thinking this might be impossible to do for wordpress.com sites. Is this correct, and if so, WHY?!

I just want the heading to disappear. It’s aesthetically distracting and serves no functional purpose. Why is it so hard to get rid of? Please, somebody help! Much appreciated.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

That is correct, it is impossible to remove.

It’s a highly functional addition, actually. YOU are the blogmaster. YOU know that the posts are protected. But absent-minded readers don’t always, and they do always, ALWAYS require reminding that something is supposed to be protected and not just copy-pasted into an email or Facebook.

If you protect all your pages and posts, you would be better served by having a private blog. Then there is no such warning.

Thanks for your replies. I’m sure this setting makes sense for many blogs and websites out there. But consider our situation:

I am creating a wedding website for close friends and family to be kept posted and to RSVP to the event.

I don’t want randoms to access our site, find out our details, and fill out the RSVP form. I also don’t want the hassle that comes with private blogs (people whom I give access to need to be register for a wordpress account; also, seems like I can only give access to 10 people max?). So, a password-protected site makes the most sense.

I’m willing to give my blog readers—the readers whom I’ve given the password to—the benefit of the doubt. I’m willing to bet that if they had to enter a password to get into the site, they should be smart enough to know that the site is not for everybody’s eyes.

I also paid US $99 to be able to customize the site to my needs. And I’m not understanding why I can’t customize it to get rid of the trivial, but very intrusive (to my eyes at least) headings at the top of each page. Whether the heading should be there, should be something that I decide, and not something that comes as a hard-coded default—hey, I paid for it, didn’t I?

If you paid for custom design, then staff will presumably respond to your request with the codes necessary to hide the words.

Hmm, so do I contact Autommatic somehow? They are the creators of our theme. I’m not sure how I can contact them directly.

Also, I noticed that the heading does not appear on our password-protected posts page—it only appears on the static password-protected pages. So some pages have this weird heading, and some don’t! Kind of confusing and inconsistent….
