How to Remove Home>>Page Title on Every Page
-
Hello, I am working in the Academia Theme. I have a question that I have not been able to resolve on my own.
How do I remove the “Home>>Page Title” that appears at the top of every page? For example, see: http://amigordon.com/about-ami-2/
Thanks so much for your help, community!
AmiThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

This would be a paid feature which would allow you to modify the CSS of the theme. However, I would strongly recommend that you keep it! Those links are breadcrumbs that help the user keep track of where they are on your website.

Thanks so much for your quick response!
I have purchased CSS customization, so no worries :)
I want to remove it for aesthetics as I think it looks much neater without it. I will later place a navigation menu at the bottom to guide visitors.
Thanks again!

That will make this much easier then! I don’t have your theme but I’m going to try and walk you through it.
First, you want to go to your Dashboard and then click on Appearances then Editor. Warning: make sure to make a copy of your CSS by copying and pasting the text into Notepad just in case there’s a hiccup!
In that copy of your CSS that you put into Notepad (or another code editor), find this text: #crumbs (you can do this by clicking CTRL and the F key on your keyboard. Command and F on a Mac).
Once you’ve found #crumbs, add this line: display: none;
The text should now look like this (or very similar):
#crumbs {
font-size: 10px;
margin: 0 0 30px;
text-transform: uppercase;
display: none;
}Now I want you right click in your WordPress’ Editor screen. Hit Control (or Command) and the A key to select all the text. Now hit the delete key.
Now select all the text in your Notepad file (Control or Command and the A key) then hold down the Control (or Command) and the C key to copy your text.
Click back into your WordPress’ editor screen. You are going to paste your text by holding down the Control (or Command) and the V key together.
Hit save and check your blog.

You can do this without CSS editing. Click this link https://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2011/12/19/custom-menus/ and scroll down to the “Other options, special cases and tricks” section. Then scroll down to: f. Tabs for static pages but no page titles on the actual pages

You guys are amazing! Thanks for your help. I am going to grab some food as I have been working on my site for a while and then try these out.
Thanks again you two awesome people.

@timethief Thanks for following up on this too! I’m used to coding so it didn’t even occur to me that WP.com would have something built in.
@Ami You’re welcome! Good luck with your website.

How do I remove the large gap under the header of the Academia theme? My top post has a title and it still does not display. I think that the problem might be twofold. One my header image is not the full height allowed. It is only 257 px high instead of 300. And, while I like the idea of a breadcrumb trail, I think that the whitespace allotted it too much. Assistance would be appreciated.

I just recently switched to the Academia theme. I now have noted that my back pages do not display the left and right sidebars. How can I get them to display? I would appreciate any suggestions that anyone can offer.

Hi @ewinggreenteam, Go to Appearance > Customize > CSS, delete all the informational text in that window, and paste in the following custom CSS.
.column-title { display: none; } -
