How To Remove Jpeg From Template
-
Greetings from the Grassy Knoll.
My question tonight concerns the “Contempt” by vault 9 template. I am playing with the CSS Stylesheet Editor but cannot change one critical part. In fact, I don’t even see it on the stylesheet editor. I think it’s part of the template and not offered to change in the CSS editor.In a nutshell, there is a particular jpeg….the topgrad.jpg that I want to remove or at the least change it’s pixel height to 1 instead of 65.
<div id=”grad” style=”height: 65px; width: 100%; background: url(https://s-ssl.wordpress.com/wp-content/themes/pub/contempt/images/blue_flower/topgrad.jpg);”> </div>
<div id=”content”>But I cannot see this anywhere in the CSS editor.
I should add that I have not yet purchased the upgrade yet and am only tsting th CSS to see if I can get the blog looking like I want it. And I do except for this one piece which is hidden from my view.Does anyone have any advice or technique on how to solve this problem?
Thanking you all in advance. -
I think you have the wrong div – you’re probably looking for the div with id=”headerimg”.
A CSS rule something like this should hide the blue gradient background image:
#headerimg {background-image: none;}

I see the headerimg, it is in the CSS editor.
However, the topgrad.jpg is not there. Hence, I cannot write the rule for image: none.Thanks for replying Telly….
Who loves ya baby….
Sorry, bet you get that a lot. -
I’m not sure what CSS editor you’re referring to .
I was mistakenly thinking you meant the image in the top blue box. the #grad image is the grey gradient at the top of the content box. This rule hides it:
#grad {background-image: none !important;}
The !important part is needed because the image is an inline style. Perhaps that’s why your CSS editor has a problem with it.

Telly, that was the ticket.
I was inserting the code without the !important.
It is working and I thank you for your quick response and expertise.
It’s time to upgrade.
