Can I remove the last post/next post links from a wordpress.com blog (namely, my own)?

Yes I believe that provided you have a custom design upgrade you can use CSS editing to remove them. You must be logged in as Admin http://en.support.wordpress.com/user-roles/#administrator under the exact same username account that registered the blog and purchased the upgrade to access the blog’s dashboard and navigate to > Store > My Upgrades to purchase the upgrade.
