How to remove link symbols
-
I’m new to WordPress. Am setting up a webpage using Dara. How do I remove the link symbols at the top of each page.
I’ve set up a menu, with ‘drop down’ items, but on the ‘site identity’ section there are a row of link symbols. The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there!
Those links that you are referring to are actually the social menu items.
You can remove or edit those links, by simply navigating to
Customize -> Menu -> Social Media. To know more about the Social menu, please refer this guide:

Please let me know if you have any more questions. I’ll be happy to help.
Happy new year :)

Thanks for the reply but I couldn’t solve the problem. Those symbols aren’t social media items, they are links to pages on my site. They seem to be a duplicate of the menu in the blue box.

Hi again,
You have seem to be created the links to your site pages in the social link menu. That menu is supposed to be used to link to your social accounts.
You can read about the Dara theme here and navigate to the Social Links menu section in the page to know more:
https://wordpress.com/theme/daraPlease watch the video in the link given to know how to setup Social Link menu
https://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/social-links-menu/And the menu that appears below the Social link menu in your site is the Primary menu, which is meant to have links to all your site pages.
Please refer this link to know more about custom menu
https://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/Hope this clarifies your concern.
Feel free to ask any question you get along while setting up. :) -
I think @simranjeetkaur10 was correct. The Dara theme instructions says:
Your theme can display menus in 2 locations. Select which menu appears in each location.
If you don’t want the duplicated links you should be able to untick the social menu icon box to remove them at “customize” “menus”.

Thanks for the reply themagicrobot !
The social menu icon box is not ticked. However the problem is now resolved – this morning when I went to my site, the duplicate links have gone. Magic.
Thanks, and happy new year to you.
