how to remove mini calendar permalink icon

how do i get rid of the mini calendar permalink icon next to the title of each blog post? i’ve tried searching for answers, but haven’t had any luck…probably because i don’t know the correct term for that little icon… thanks!

That is the date you published the post. Some themes are more subtle in the way the published date on posts is displayed. You might consider changing themes if that “mini calendar” bothers you. Or you could experiment with CSS to see if it is possible to hide the post dates in that theme:
