How to remove or style header/navigation bar on Posts pages

  • Unknown's avatar

    I would like to remove the navigation bar from my blog post pages. By “blog post pages” I mean the page that loads when a user clicks on a blog title (example). I have the posts opening in new tabs so the navigation bar is not necessary. But it is also not styled the way I have it styled for the rest of the site and I can’t seem to figure out how to style it.

    I have gone into the Appearance > Customize > Header Builder > Customize Transparent Header and switched on “Disable on Posts” but this has had no effect.

    If I can’t remove the header/navigation bar, then I need to be able to change the background color and the color of the navigation menu items.

    Can someone please help?

  • Hi there, you may wish to try the following custom CSS which will remove the menu on single blog posts only:

    .single #primary-site-navigation {
        display: none;
    }

    Note that search engines (like Google) may like this, and it could affect your site ranking. Navigation is a pretty important element of your site so we’re not clear the effect it may have on your search ranking.

    Hope that helps. Please let us know if you have any more questions.
