How to remove Recent Posts at bottom of Twenty Ten template?

  • Unknown's avatar

    How do I remove the Recent Posts from the bottom of the Twenty Ten template? I went into Widgets already and confirmed that I had not placed it in any of the footer sections, so it appears to be fixed. Can I remove it? If so, how? I only want it to appear to the left on my blog, which is does, but for some reason, it appears on all of the other pages at the bottom.

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    The blog linked to your username is wearing the Blix theme. Please post an active link starting with http:// to the blog wearing the Twenty Ten theme.
    Recent Posts is a widget. Go here > Appearance > Widgets and remove it.

    Thanks for your response! I have several blogs out there under a similar name. The one to look at is the one that has Michael at the end of it. This is in the Twenty Ten theme. I already went into Appearance/Widgets and it did not show as an active widget in any of my footer areas. I noticed that this appears whenever I work with the Showcase theme, so perhaps it is built in? I just want to remove it, but don’t think I can without using CSS? Any thoughts?

    We do require an active link starting with http:// to the blog in question please. Without it we cannot help you. Please post it now.

    WordPress.com free hosted blogs and WordPress.org installs run on different software. Even themes that have the same names are coded to run on either WordPress.com or on WordPress.org software. They are not interchangeable.

    re: free hosted WordPress.com blogs only
    Note that Twenty Eleven has a Showcase template. Twenty Ten does not have one.

    Have you tried setting a static front page for the blog and choosing the “Default template” for it? I believe if you do that you may find that the Recent Posts will disappear.

    Actually I meant the Twenty Eleven theme…sorry for the confusion.

    Also, I do have a static front page set to Home and the Blog is on my menu.

    The blog name is My Best Retirement Plan Michael. It is listed under my Manage Blogs option.

    Thank you!!!

    We do NOT have access to your dashboard so we cannot rummage around in your account to see what blog you are talking about. We are unpaid volunteers.

    We need a link to the site you are talking about.

    My apologies…http://mybestretirementplan.wordpress.com/

    I created this version of the blog before I mapped back to my domain name. Not sure how to connect this one now to my “registered” blog.

    Please let me know if you have trouble getting into it.

    Thank you.

    It is set to private so I cannot see it. This is a shot in the dark from one of my test sites.

    .page-template-showcase-php section.recent-posts {
    display: none;
    }

    I will change the status so that it is visible. I am very new at this, so I am assuming I should incorporate this as a style sheet into the existing twenty-11 template using the Custom Design option?

    Thank you so much!

    Yes, delete the informational text from the CSS edit text area, paste what I have above into the window, make sure the “add to existing…” is selected and then preview or save the stylesheet. If you preview first, you may have to force refresh the preview page to see the change.

    I just looked at your site, and the above should do it for you.

    That worked perfectly! You are amazing!

    Thanks again for your help and patience….
