How to remove RSS Feed and archive text

  • Unknown's avatar

    I’d like to remove the red ‘RSS FEED FOR THIS SECTION’ text and black ‘ARCHIVE]’ text that comes up on the top of an archive page? Here’s an example on my page: http://stampthewax.wordpress.com/category/top-5ive/

    Is it possible?

    Many thanks

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Strange, that took some looking as it was not where I thought it would be. This will do it though.

    .archive_header {
    display: none;
    }

    Thanks, that did the job! Quite interested in how you found that? I used firebug but it wouldn’t select the archive bit of text so I didn’t know what else to do.. apart from ask you :D

    Yeah, I was thinking WTF when I could not select it either. What I do in that case is in the left pane of firebug just start going up one div at a time (with them expanded to show the nested divs and elements) until what I want to change gets highlighted in the blog above. That is how I found it, and like I said, it was not where I would have expected it to be. Sometimes if the designer is good, the name of the selector can give it away too.

    The reason it could not be selected is that the post div is actually on a layer above it. I’m not sure why the designer did it that way. I would not have, but perhaps they had their reasons.

    Look for the probable and if that doesn’t work, look at the improbable.

    Thanks for the tip sacred, that will really help in the future. Stops me bothering you anyway ha!

    I’m not sure where I would post this other query, but you might be able to poin me in the right direction. Since I’ve added these text widgets on the side of the site (the authors bit) whenever I link a new post on facebook in a message the preview link picture that comes up is always the ‘Aaron Levitt’ image which is really strange. Before the authors part was added, whenever i linked a new post on facebook the preview link picture would be the one the relevant picture that was included in the post.

    Any ideas?

    Yeah, that has been discussed before and Raincoaster is the one who answered it and if I remember right, it is a facebook issue. I tried searching for something in the forums but the threads must not have been properly tagged – or not tagged at all. I even tried a ” site:en.forums.wordpress.com ” sort of search on Google and nothing.
