You can remove this element with the following CSS:
/* Remove Menu Search Box */ #searchform { display: none; }You can add it to your site here:

Many thanks pmciano. That magic certainly granted my wish.
Unfortunately one should be careful what one wishes for. It seems to remove the search box from the menu line but does not seem to release the space for additional menu items – the reason for the removal. In effect it just seems to render the search box invisible.
Another unforeseen and unwished for outcome is that it seems also to make it impossible to display a search box widget in the side bar. Again it is clearly there (the title appears if you give it one) but the search box is invisible.
Is there another solution or do I have to live with these?

Sorry. I should have added that the website in question is now:

t seems to remove the search box from the menu line but does not seem to release the space for additional menu items – the reason for the removal.
First, set the menu you created as your site’s Primary Menu, so you can at least see all the new items you’ve placed there:

In regard to the space issue, this seems inline with the theme’s default layout:

Another unforeseen and unwished for outcome is that it seems also to make it impossible to display a search box widget in the side bar.
Here, we need to simply be more specific. Try replacing the CSS I previously gave you with this:
/* Remove Menu Search Box in header */ header #searchform { display: none; }If you have additional CSS questions, please try posting to our CSS Customization forum:
