How do I remove my sidebar without losing total site width? I tried removing my sidebar, but my total site width shrunk. Thanks for the help, Dave

Am I missing something? I went to my page attributes to set a static home page and make it full width, but I don ‘t see that option under my page attributes – it only has the options to edit parent and order. As you can see on my site, I have removed the sidebar, but that created my total page width to shrink to a very narrow looking site. I would really like to remove the sidebar, but without losing any width on my site (and I’m really only interested in pages, so that’s fine if it only works for pages). Thanks again.

Well, since you can’t customize CSS on a free WordPress.com blog site, you can’t make the content area full screen, the way the Button theme is designed. You might want to consider another theme, unless you plan to pay for a WP hosted premium site.

Timethief mentioned that the Button Theme does provide a full page template for pages, though. She said the premium upgrade was only necessary for using the full page template for posts. Since I am only looking to work with pages, I thought I wouldn’t need the upgrade in this case. Was she incorrect in saying this?

The thing is when I go to edit my page, I don’t see an option for a full page template. I realize the Button theme says that it supports this, but I am not seeing it as an option when I go to edit or add a page. Can anyone help? Thanks.

Yes, there should be an option under “Page Attributes” that will allow you to select a full width display. However, the default display is the only option, even though this theme is supposed to allow for a full width display template. Perhaps this should be brought to the attention of the theme developer, since it is new and is listed as a full width page theme.

Is there a way to contact the theme developer, Carline Moore, to see if she is working on this? As stated above, there should be an option under “Page Attributes” to select a full width display, but the default display is currently the only option.

There is no need to contact the Caroline that I can determine at this time.

If you do not locate the Full Width page (not post) template then click the screen options https://en.support.wordpress.com/screen-options/ link on the top right hand corner and then include the module.

I have made sure that “Page Attributes” is checked, BUT there is no option to use a full page template. As you pointed out, the Button Theme “provides a full width page template (for pages not for posts)”. Despite this claim, there is no option under Page Attributes to actually choose a full width template. And yes, I am working on a page, not a post. This is the reason I thought that maybe the theme developer, Caroline, might need to be contacted to update the theme with this option that it already claims to have.
