How to remove the reply to… box on pages and posts

  I would like to remove all comments and replies on a WordPress hosted site, I’m not sure if this is at all possible.

  I have a self hosted site and it works a treat but I can’t get it to work on my site hosted by WordPress.

  I’m using Twenty Eleven as my theme and have clicked all check-boxes relating to replies, plus all options in the screen options section.

  Hope anyone can help.

  Go into your dashboard and edit the page, scroll down to “Discussion” then uncheck “Allow comments.”

  Do this for each page you want to remove the comments feature from.

  Oh duh, you just said you unchecked them, it’s been a long day, I’ll leave this one for someone who has more of a clue than I do :)

  Ive done this, still doesn’t go, I think im going to host it elsewhere as I know this works, thanks anyhoo.

  Commenting is built into the core of WordPress. The setting at default Settings > Discussion http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/page-discussion/ will only affect future posts and pages. Existing posts and pages will have to have their comments turned off manually. You can either do this on a post by post and page by page basis in the discussion module down below the text area in the post/page editor, or you can use the bulk edit feature to do multiple posts or pages.

  Go to the top right hand corner of your Admin page and click “screen options” and enable the “Discussion” module there. http://en.support.wordpress.com/screen-options/

  Pages > disable and enable comments > http://en.support.wordpress.com/enable-disable-comments/#enabling-and-disabling-comments-using-the-discussion-module
  Edit page and under the editor box scroll down until you find the “Discussion Module”
  locate and disable these:
  Discussion
  __Allow comments.
  __Allow trackbacks and pingbacks on this page.
  Click “update”
