    I would like to remove everything from the website and leave just one empty page. How can I do that?

    I understand that I cannot remove the footer “WordPress.com”, but everything else I would like to remove. How can I do that?

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    @talentfolio,

    A WordPress.com theme must be activated on a WordPress.com site at all times. It’s not possible to create a WordPress.com site without a theme activated on it, or to remove a theme from a WordPress.com site without replacing that theme with another theme. See the following relevant topics:

    Though a themeless WordPress.com site is impossible, it is possible to obtain an empty or virtually empty front page. Ideally, you’d be able to choose a theme without a default header image, menu(s), or design elements in the header area, and without default widgets displayed. If you can’t find such a theme, then try the following steps:

    1. If a theme displays a default header image, then hide it at Customize > Header Image.
    2. If a theme displays a default header area menu, then replace it with a custom menu that has no menu items.
    3. If a theme displays default widgets in one or more widget areas visible on the front page, then remove the widgets, or take other actions, if necessary, to remove or hide the widgets.
    4. Whether you set a static page or display a post on the front page, in either case you would leave the content empty, and remove the title, ideally hiding it with custom CSS.
    5. If the page or post displayed on the front page has a default featured image, then remove it.
    6. Hide the Action bar on smaller screens, as described in the topic Removing “follow” bar at bottom on mobile devices.
    7. Leave the default background, or choose a custom background color or image.

    Hi Musicdoc1 – thank you for the reply. I’m wondering, why is there no one come with idea to create simple theme such as: “Empty Page” or “Just company logo” :)))

  • Hi @talentfolio!

    I’m assuming (please do correct me if I’m wrong) that you’re looking for a simple home page (just your site name or logo), and then you plan to display content on your other pages?

    Your theme controls the look and feel of your entire site, not just the home page, so themes are built to present all of your site’s content.

    Some themes can be worked down to a very basic front page, if that’s what you have in mind.

    Pique, for example, is a theme that uses panels on the front page – but if you remove all of the panels you’ll have a pretty simple layout on the home page :)
