You can add or remove excerpts content using the excerpts module available on the post editor page.
This should help.

For each featured post, go into the More Options area and remove the text in the Excerpt box. Screenshot here:
If you leave the excerpt box blank, then the theme will pull the first portion of your post and display it in the featured-content area. To get around this, you can add a non-breaking space in the excerpt box, which will give you a blank excerpt on the front end (public side) of your site:
If you decide to upgrade to a Premium plan, we could have hidden the excerpt with CSS, but since you don’t have access to that right now, this is the best workaround I can think of.
