Hi there,
The username you have next to “Twitter username to include in tweets when people share using the Twitter button” under Settings > Sharing in your dashboard is the one that will appear when someone uses the Twitter sharing button on your site. You can change the name in that box and click Save Changes to change that username.
If you still see the old username on your site, you may need to refresh your browser or clear your browser’s cache and cookies.
If you do that and it still isn’t working properly, please let me know and I’ll be happy to take another look.

Dear Rachel,
Hi, I had tried many times as per your advices, even during earlier times, but the problem just can’t be fixed. you can try go to null
and at the bottom of the sharing button, twitter, my username: piggy091385 will appear while I had removed the username under my sharing settings; this occur as well as my another website:where else, i had replaced with another username: @luxuryartisanco
but it appeared back as @piggy091385

sorry, i rewrite the websites manually better…
http://www.mediawritingfocus.com
http://www.luxuryartisancompany.com
you can try click ‘twitter’ button and the username will appear at the back of the twitter captions…but i had removed it long time ago…

Thank you for providing that additional information. I am checking with our team to see what might be happening on your blogs, and I’ll let you know as soon as I hear back. Please let me know if you have any questions in the meantime!

Hi there, I checked with our team and have a little more information about this for you:
Your blog at http://www.mediawritingfocus.com has Publicize set up with the Twitter account @piggy091385. Since your posts were publicized to that Twitter account, that’s the username that will appear when someone shares the post to Twitter. (Removing the username on the settings page doesn’t change this, since the posts were already shared to that Twitter account.)
Since you switched to a new Twitter account for your blog at http://www.luxuryartisancompany.com, the old Twitter name was still attached to some of your posts there. We fixed that, so now all of your posts should be linked to the new Twitter account when someone shares your posts.
Please let me know if you have any questions about that!

Dear Rachel MCR,
Yes, I am glad that my http://www.luxuryartisancompany.com has been shared at the new twitter account, which is exactly what I want.
However, as I do not wish to link http://www.mediawritingfocus.com to my personal twitter account, plus I had already remove the wordpress apps from my personal twitter account as well, yet not effective.
hopefully, wordpress is able to deactivate or put a restriction on the ‘Publicize set up’ between twitter and wordpress one day.
Thanks for your help on this issue though, you are wonderful.
Do update me if one day, my personal twitter account can be removed from my http://www.mediawritinffocus.com….I would be very grateful with your help as well.
hope there is a solution to edit it

sorry that i write my website wrongly at the previous message again, thousand apologies… it should be
http://www.mediawritingfocus.com
Thanks, dear!

Hi there,
You can remove your Twitter account from Publicize by going to Settings > Sharing in your dashboard. Next to your Twitter username, you can click the “X” to remove that connection. That will stop items from publicizing to your Twitter account.

Hi, Rachel… (sorry asking like this via this post again)
**wish I can pm you with such technical problems..I had remove the publicize connection, removed my sharing username, I had clear my browser history and cookies…but the old twitter username still appeared the sharing button…
:(
-
Dear Rachel,
hey, good news! i had tried to create a new post and there is no longer any of the previous username when I click the twitter button!
great! Let see for my upcoming post and shall see if same mistake occur, guess the old postings will be publicized along with the old twitter username…
any problem i will refer to you again, thanks!
you are the hero :)

Yep, that’s right! When you don’t have a Twitter connection set up with Publicize, the Twitter sharing button on your new posts will say “via @wordpressdotcom” instead.
Happy blogging!
