How to remove 'Welcome to WordPress.com' and 'Use this template to give your readers
-
I hate to post this because it’s almost embarrassing, but I really do not understand this site. I want to remove the ‘Welcome to WordPress.com’ and ‘Use this template to give your readers a bit of important information’ that’s on my home page. I’d also love to remove the call to action button, but I’ve already read through the public forums and found now help. I have a free membership. I’m not sure if that just means that I’m stuck with this weird no editing option or if I’m just consistently missing the options to change this. I’ve looked up and down scrolled everything I could. Every time I try to editing the page, there is no option to remove this
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Would’ve been nice to actually respond with the solution, regardless if it he self solve it or not.
I just landed to this page from Google search, and I’m having the same issue… now, of course, have to keep searching.

Did you read: https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/removing-welcome-to-wordpress-from-home-page?replies=2#post-2714303?We wordpress.com bloggers do not have access to the template files underlying our themes on wordpress.COM hosted blogs and cannot edit them. This is a multiuser blogging platform. All blogs wearing the same theme use the same underlying template found on the live demo site for each theme.
Does Customize let me edit HTML?
No. Customize allows you to edit fonts, colors, and CSS only. You can change the appearance of a theme, but not its HTML markup or PHP code. If you require this functionality, please consider moving your blog to a web host that supports theme code modifications. You can read more about why here http://support.wordpress.com/code/, and find a suitable host here http://get.wp.com/hosting/.
