Hi!
As far as I understand you can use this:
.lodestar-intro { display: none; }Please check if it works correctly for you.
Also you can ask your questions about CSS at the CSS customization part of the WordPress.com forums.

Olga,
Thanks soooooo much!! It worked. You did your good deed for the day!I just have one other question….how would you change the font color of the title (Barking Up The Wrong Tree?) on the home page from dark gray to black? One of the WP people gave me a code but it didn’t work.
Thanks,
Karen -
You are welcome, Karen, glad that it worked :)
As for the title – I’m not sure which one you actually asking about, because I can’t see your site (because of your privacy settings) so I’m kind of working in the dark )))
My suggestion is that you are talking about site-title in the middle of the main photo. If so, you can use this:
site-branding a { color: #000000; }Please let me know if it was not about this title.
Best regards,

Olga,
Thanks for your response. Actually, I was talking about the title before the text on the 1st page. It says “Barking Up the Wrong Tree?”Karen

Hi Karen,
If you’re wanting to change this just on the front page of the site, you can replace this:
.lodestar-front-page h2.entry-title { color: #000000; }Instead of that, use this:
.lodestar-front-page h2.entry-title { color: #000000; opacity: 1; } -
