How to remove wordpress theme advert from across my blog?
-
I have wordpress strip with name of my theme right across my blogging area – hides some of top bit of post – if it is clicked it goes through to page to preview the theme. I cannot find anyway in any of my settings where I can eliminate or even move it down to where I think it ought to be – at bottom of page. I don’t mind the ad for the theme – I am very pleased with the theme and tell others about it – but how do I remove from the wrong place (& how did it get there in the first place- wasn’t there a couple of days ago)
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there. I see what you mean. Your footer bar doesn’t want to stay at the bottom. That’s definitely not what it’s supposed to do.
Did you by any chance add custom CSS code to your site? A wrong bit of CSS could be causing this. If you didn’t change any CSS, let us know.

Nope not that I am aware haven’t a clue how to put code in or even what it is – I had been trying out new themes as I have been toying with idea of changing to a website but always left that part alone when playing with colours etc.
at the same time that it happened half the sidebar widgets vanished down to the bottom of the blog (despite the fact there is no footer bar! – I managed to get them back up again by dint of reordering them up and up until they were all back in the side bar. cannot figure how I do the footer bar:)

Okay. I’ve tagged this thread for staff so they can get that misbehaving footer back in line. Please be patient while waiting for their response.

Did you paste in from a word processing program? If so the stray html can trash your site – check the box below
Dashboard >> Settings >> Writing >> WordPress should correct html errors (or something like that) – then make a change in each of your Posts or Pages and then save changes

I paste in from scrivener – have done for yonks.I have been running multiple blogs for a few years now on different platforms and always pasted in with no trouble – I never touch code except for things such as like boxes etc when you copy in the coding for the like box from the relevant site – twitter – facebook etc
do you do all the formatting and stuff on the blog?
will wait for the staff with cat like patience – thank you for help

Hi Alberta,
I found that you had 2 stray div tags in your Alberta’s Book Text Widget. I removed those and the footer is now back at the bottom.
Cheers!

Thank you so much – doesn’t it look nice now:) sorry for delay in answering been without internet connection for couple of days – all help was much appreciated – if I was 50 years younger I would try and get my head around ‘code’ – sort of feel life is too short now:) thanks again
