    To remove your blog from alphainventions.com add the text “nonpublic” to your blog(s).

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Unknown's avatar

    Er, add it where, exactly?

  • Unknown's avatar

    You can add it anywhere on your blog.

    OK, thanks.

    One thing baffling me – why is alphainventions perceived as a problem? Many of my posts appear there, and I can’t see any reason to worry. Makes a useful contribution to my hit rate, too. Am I missing something?

  • Unknown's avatar

    I find it puzzling too. But maybe some people don’t want certain posts to be so popular.
    But then and again, why would those people got linked when some are paying to be marketed?

    @whenpandasattack

    Thanks for the link – there seems no real consensus that alpha represents any sort of a problem, though – as far as I can see, it’s more publicity for my blog. How is that a bad thing?

    The main grouse seems to be with the way alpha displays blogs – this seems more a personal gripe than an actual problem, though. Unless anyone can show me there’s any risk involved, I’m cool.

    Well from what I’ve gathered from my own statistics is that around every 3 months there will be an uproar about alphainventions.com for a week or two, then things will die down again.

    ronsrealm there is no risk involved besides having the blog you published show to the public for their personal judgment.

    I’ve also noticed that many bloggers don’t realize that when you publish your blog, that it sends pings to various services (like weblogs.com) to further publish your blog on different platforms. This is no fault of mine, the internet is still a free zone, and if you don’t your content discovered then you know what to do.

    Please see my reply on the other thread (hint hint).

    I can’t believe I’m caught in the middle in stopping readers at alphainventions.com from knowing when random pandas attack people.

    This is going nowhere fast.

    In an email wordpress.com staff told me to provide a way for people to be aware of what’s going on, or to provide a way for people to opt out, so the conclusion is:

    For example if you have a blog about when pandas attack people, or others things, and don’t want the humans that use alphainventions.com to know about the panda attacks, just add the text “nonpublic” to your blog in any location and font size.

    You can even put “nonpublic panda attacks” in you title. The possibilities for the attacks to remain private are endless.

    I will ensure you that all of your panda attack info will remain in the private sector of the blogsphere from here on. Let us all sustain the secrecy of panda attacks.

    Did I go too far??

    Seriously I will do my best to block blogs that do not want to be shown on alphainventions.com.

    Or you could take a look at this video I’ve put together to boost your creativity, by opening your mind with a few facts about random stimulation, and how it can benefit you.

    @alphainventions
    Please stop reactivation resolved threads an start listening to us.
    (a) change your service so it only shows blogs that have asked to be included, or
    (b) provide a reasonable way to let bloggers opt-out (i.e., add themselves to a list) and filter those blogs against that list.

  • Unknown's avatar

    timethief I’m the one who marked the thread as resolved.

    Please start paying attention, and realize there are too many more who enjoy the services just the way they are. I have done what wordpress.com, and other playforms wanted me to do. I provided a way to opt out.

    A list would be the first thing to come to a closed minded or one sided person. If there was a list, then there would be a gateway for hateful bloggers to add their competition to the list, and that would lead to other problems. I’d rather work on other issues. I would hate for someone to email me a blog to block that is not theirs. Even a child should even be able to understand this.

    timethief please stop antagonizing me and agreeing only with those who disagree with me. You follow me from platform to platform only to confuse others.

    You and I even had a spat here where others noticed your neurotic behavior when it comes to my harmless tool:

    Ok guys, the wordpress.com staff said the nonpublic idea was terrible, so mon or tue, I’ll have another way for bloggers to opt out.

    I apologize for any inconvenience.
