How to rename a link
-
This is what I do:
1. Take a screen shot using Snipping Tool
2. Save it as an image using IrfanView
3. Upload it to DropBox
4. Select SHARE
5. A URL is presented
6. Insert the URL as a link into a forum post.Instead of inserting the massively long URL, how do I rename it to something shorter?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Insert/Edit Link is available for Static Pages and Dynamic Pages but NOT for Forum Posts.
Did I miss something when I read Rainmasters link?
I am still not sure how to do it?

You’re asking how to insert a link here? Use the LINK button, right above the Write Post box here. Works just the same as using the Link button on the blog, only here it is spelled out in text instead of a chain icon.
Nobody in a forum really cares how long the URL is anyway.

I do not know how to do this when inserting in to a forum post.

Hi Rainmaster,
I could not find this:
use the the button that looks like a short chain, use the button that says LINK instead
Where in your link does it say that?

Or better still, take a screen shot of this, call it SCREENSHOT, paste it in your response, then tell me how you did it.
Then I would know.

Hi Rainmaster,
Thank you for your response, however, I could not find the solution in the link that you provided.
By trial and error, I was able to resolve my issue.
1. In your cloud storage provider, mine is DropBox, copy the URL of your image.
2. In your forum post field, select the word link.
3. The first pop-up window appears. In the field enter the URL paste the URL of your image.
The first pop-up window
4. The second pop-up window appears. In the field enter the text for the link type in your text.
The second pop-up window
