How to renew an expired domain ?

    Hello,

    panoskarabelas.com has expired, and my understanding is that I can’t renew it anymore, unless I upgrade to a monthly/yearly plan. Could you please release the domain name, so I can move to a different provider ?

    Hi there!

    An expired domain can’t be transferred elsewhere without renewing it. And it goes through a lengthy process of expiration after a domain expires. You can learn more about the domain expiration process here: https://wordpress.com/support/domains/domain-expiration/

    We’re not able to simply release a domain after it expires. It goes through the process mentioned on the page linked above.

    If you’d like to use the domain elsewhere, you can renew just the domain with us. I’ve emailed you the payment link (US$18) where you can pay for just the domain. Please pay as soon as possible and let us know when done. We’ll then restore the domain to your account and renewing it.

    Note that because you updated the contact details of the domain yesterday, there’s a 60-day transfer lock placed on the domain by the registry. So you won’t be able to transfer the domain right away after it’s restored and renewed. But you can point the domain to another provider and transfer the registration after 60 days.
