How to renew domain mapping

    When wordpress says renew domain mapping does it mean renew the domain name? My domain through godaddy auto renews in 5 days and wordpress says domain name expires in 4. Or does it mean pay wordpress

    Domain mapping is a service that connects your domain registered elsewhere to your WordPress.com blog.

    GoDaddy = your domain registrar
    WordPress.com = your domain’s host

    Here’s the support page for domains:
    https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/

    So renewing domain mapping does not renew your domain name. It renews the connection between your domain and your WordPress.com blog so that when someone goes to your domain, it will work perfectly and not break or display an error message.
