How to replace image at top of sidebar
-
I want to replace my image with a newer one at the top of the sidebar (where readers can sign up to follow). I can’t figure out how to do so.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi, you are using an Image Widget to display the image at the top of the sidebar.
To edit the Widget, you can go to Appearances -> Widgets. On that page, to the right side and near the top, you should be able to find the Image Widget that displays your image. You can use the setting there to change your image to something else.

I’ve managed to delete the original image but am unable to insert another. I want to use an image I uploaded to the media library. When I copy the image URL to the Widget image box and save, the sidebar has a message “Please configure the Image widget in your widget settings.” I’m at a loss.

Then you’re probably trying to paste the wrong thing into the image URL field. Image URLs always end with the filetype extension (.jpg or .png etc).
Go to Media > Library, click Edit next to the thumbnail, copy the URL from the File URL field of the Save box: that’s the URL you need to use. -
Thanks. The URL had extraneous characters on the end. Once they were removed, it worked.
