How to replace old blog with new, keeping same address?

I want to develop blog #2 and after I have it setup up the way I want, I want it to replace my blog #1using the same address as blog #1. How do I do that? If I register a new blog it wants a new address and I don’t want that…I want to keep #2 private until it’s ready to launch and then replace #1, keeping #1 address. Thanks for your help

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi there,

Without a custom domain, it isn’t possible to develop a new blog and then replace an existing blog with the new one automatically.

However, here’s one way you could develop your blog’s new look: You can set up a test blog to develop the new blog, using a throwaway address. When you’re ready, you can set your current blog to private, make the changes you tried out on your test blog, and then make the blog public again when it’s ready to go.
