How to replace the original wordpress footer with a copyright
-
Hi,
I have looked at previous threads on the subject, they tell me to go tweak the css in appearance /customize.
But there is nothing in that box and trying to add a bit of coding doesn’t work either.Am I looking at the wrong place?
Thanks for your help.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

You have to purchase the customize upgrade to make changes to the CSS. If you only want to add a copyright to your footer, you can do that, but you can’t remove the existing wording. That would be a violation of Terms of Service and it would get your blog suspended.
No. 11 – “Attribution. Automattic reserves the right to display attribution links such as ‘Blog at WordPress.com,’ theme author, and font attribution in your blog footer or toolbar. Footer credits and the WordPress.com toolbar may not be altered or removed regardless of upgrades purchased.”
An alternative to the upgrade, is to create a copyright with a text widget and place that in your sidebar or footer.

Thank you for taking the time to reply.
I have purchased the upgrade but even with that I cannot see the css editor.
I will try to look at widgets, thanks for the suggestion. -

I answered you in the other thread https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/how-to-replace-the-original-wordpress-footer-with-a-copyright?replies=3#post-1885798

You do not see the entire stylesheet. You only see the box into which you enter your changes.

Thanks raincoaster for your replies.
I can now stop looking for the editor!
Next step is what to enter in that box?!
None of the suggestions on the other threads worked.
Sorry, I’m really new at this and need all the help I can get! -
