How to report Bugs

How do I report bugs? I have searched the site and cannot find where to submit a bug report.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

The blog linked to your username is NOT a free hosted WordPress.com blog. We provide support here only for free hosted WordPress.COM blogs and no others. You are posting to the wrong support forums. If you don’t have a username account at WordPress.org click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, so you can post to the support forums there and receive advice from WordPress.org bloggers.

Thank you for insulting my intelligence. You will notice I am using a WordPress.com account and my inquiry is related to such.

Please only provide constructive replies without jumping to conclusions to this post as I am using it for professional purposes.

Additionally, the link was added automatically when I submitted the original post.

And the link links to a wordpress.ORG blog, so the one who’s insulting your intelligence isn’t timethief.
If you wish to ask about a wordpress.COM blog, we need its URL. If you’re talking about http://www.standardexcellence.net/, you’re in the wrong forum.

I fully understand where the link links to. I am not experiencing an issue with a wordpress.org blog.

I am referring to an issue I am having with a wordpress.com username login for commenting on a website. It has worked in the past up until about a week ago, I believe there is a coding issue, and wish to address it. If this is not the appropriate place to do so, I completely understand. However, wordpress.org forums are not the appropriate place either.

If anyone does know the appropriate channel for submitting this type of report, please let me know.

Until you provide a URL to the free hosted WordPress.com blog in question we cannot assist you. Please do that now.

Here is an example of where the error I am seeing occurs: http://financearmageddon.blogspot.com/2013/04/boston-bomber-last-message-on-facebook.html

    Here is the message:
    “WordPress.com
You do not own that identity.”

I am signed in with my wordpress.com login, and have previously used it to comment elsewhere. The problem occurs whether I am signed in or not, however. To be clear, if I am not signed in to wordpress.com, and attempt to comment on a site with wordpress.com as a comment identity option, the same error occurs once I sign in.

That is about all the information I have. It could be an issue with the website, with blogspot, with wordpress, or something else entirely.

(P.S. please forgive the political nature of the blog link. it is only provided as an example of where this error occurs.)

WordPress.com recognizes your blogger identity but Blogger does not. In reference to Blogger ie. commenting on blogspot blogs the issue is on the other end. Blogspot software assumes we all have a single username here at wordpress.com and only a single blog by the exact same matching name. It will not accept any other URL – invalid URL! it says. Ha!

So if we have a domain, or we have more than one blog registered under the same WordPress.com username, trying to comment and have it link to our wordpress.com blogs becomes impossible, unless the blogspot blogger chooses to enable commenters to post with a username and URL on their Blogger blog.

The only workaround is to register a Blogger blog which will allow you to comment but your username will not be linked to your WordPress.com blog when you do. Then you are labeled as a ‘no reply blogger’. It’s crazy-making!

Open ID has always failed more often than it has worked.

Bottom line: This is a well known issue. If you simply use the Name/URL option when it’s provided then your blog will be linked to your username on the comments you leave on blogspot blogs.

That’s the answer, then. Thanks for the good technical feedback, as well. Case closed.
