How to reset everything?
-
I modified the CSS and something went horribly wrong. So how do I reset everything back to a default theme … it doesn’t seem to take.

Greets:
Dashboard -> Presentation -> Edit CSS -> Clear out the editor box, check the box labeled “Start from scratch and just use this” and click on “Save Stylesheet”
Make sure you clear your browser cache when you view the blog again. CSS usually only loads the first time when you view a new site. You have to tell the browser to pull it again.

Hmmm. I think that is in the right direction, but now I have no css at all, and I did clear my browser cache.

Actually I’m showing that you have the blank CSS.
Hmm, and my test blog doesn’t have the upgrade. (Mark, if you see this, can I get the drmikestextblog blog to have the CSS upgrade please?)
edit: Worked it out. Click the “Add to existing CSS” box and click on Save again. Sorry about that. It used to work the way i described it. :)

Speaking of resetting, does anyone know how to reset the stats counter? I have been doing a lot of work on my blog and somewhere along the way, it has definitely been counting my own visits. I haven’t even completed migrating my old blog across yet and when this is completed, I would like to start with a 0 Hit Count.

I’m afraid you’ll have to take this matter to staff during weekdays and during support hours http://wordpress.com/contact-support/ -

STILL! I WANT TO KNOW HOW TO RESET MY BLOG?
SOMTHING HAS GONE WRONG, ALL CATEGORIES ARE ALL MESSED UP!
PLEASE HELP ME!MUCHIK.WORDPRESS.COM

Please don’t type in all caps. It’s considered very rude.
And when you leave your blog info, please do it in a clickable format, like http://muchik.wordpress.com so we can use it immediately. Also, tell us if you were making any changes while things went wrong. And please be specific about exactly what is messed up, and how. I only see one category on that blog; what are we supposed to see instead?

From all of the above I think I need beginners advice. I’d like a sidebar for headlines. Perhaps that means another theme? Bridson
-
Do you have the CSS upgrade? Or do you just want advice on choosing a theme? There are theme reviews at http://internetducttape.com to check out and compare. Any theme with a sidebar rather than DayDream’s bottom display can display recent post headlines, provided you’ve put the widget in the sidebar.

Is there a solution to reset CSS?
I have changed my display to the Ambiru template by Phu Ly, but it’s using the CSS settings that I set for a different template, thereby rather ruining the entire effect.
I’ve tried deleting the CSS via the Edit CSS box – but it simply removes _all_ CSS.Is there any way to reset the CSS file to the template’s default settings?
Or can anyone point me to the original AMBIRU CSS file? -

I am having the same issues as bridson… tried reseting the… that worked fine, but when I load to new template and ‘preview’ it, it looks just fine but when I go to apply the theme it fouls it all up.
You help would be much appreciated…

Since you are currently on the Andreas09 theme micahalbert, you might need to copy the stylesheet out of the following sheet and then maybe another color one as well later. Copy that one in and click on the “start from scratch and just do this”. I referenced the original CSS sheet to get it looking OK again.
