I had a private blog a long time ago ( https://dandelionsanddaffodils.wordpress.com/ ) and now I forget my password! It is in the same account as my moms, and when I try to click ‘reset password’ It sends an email for my <i>mom’s<i> blog. Do you know what I could do? I forget my username. :( I just know the email.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

There are three questions you need to answer yourself:

    1. What is the exact URL of this old blog?
    2. Exactly which username account registered it?
    3. Exactly which email address is registered under that username account?

Every WordPress.COM blog has a sole owner. It is the person with the WordPress.COM username account who registered the blog under that username account and a single associated email address, and who is the original Admin of the blogs registered under that username account.

You have to be logged in as Admin http://en.support.wordpress.com/user-roles/#administrator under the exact same username account that registered the blog to access the blog’s dashboard.

Clicking this link should display all blogs registered under the same username, including the hidden ones: https://dashboard.wordpress.com/wp-admin/index.php?page=my-blogs&show=hidden

If you do not see the blog here http://en.support.wordpress.com/my-blogs/ then
    follow this guide > http://en.support.wordpress.com/my-blogs/#my-blogs-dashboard-visibility

If the log-in information is lost visit https://en.wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=lostpassword

Check every one of your possible email accounts and if you are not successful gaining access to the blog, please complete the form for account recovery at this link https://en.wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=recovery and submit it to the Account Recovery Staff and provide proof ownership, so they can contact you by email ie. not on these public support forums which are available to everyone with internet access.

What I did is requested admission with my current blog account and the request was sent to an email account that is on my computer. Then I logged out and clicked “forgot my password”. I entered in the email which the request was sent to, and the email went to that account but, it said reset password for my mom’s blog.

Okay! That makes sense. :) Did you read what I said above?

What I did is requested admission with my current blog account and the request was sent to an email account that is on my computer. Then I logged out and clicked “forgot my password”. I entered in the email which the request was sent to, and the email went to that account but, it said reset password for my mom’s blog.

    Hi there,

Passwords are specific to an account, not to a blog. If your mother’s account owns that blog, then you will need to log in under her username, using her password, in order to access that blog. You can only access that blog using your username and password if this account has been added as a user on that site.

It looks to me that that is what you have done. I can see that this account has been added as an author to that blog and that you have published a post on it on 1 January.

If you want to be able to do more than just write posts on that site, your mother will either have to change your user role on that site to an Administrator, or she will have to transfer the site to this account instead so that this account owns it.
