How to respond back to new followers on my blog?

When I get a new follower on my blog, I like to respond with an email but I don’t have the follower’s email. Even when I go into Gravatar, it’s a dead end and I can’t reply to the follower there either. So, when I get the email notification of a new follower, can I just click the email Reply button to contact that person? Will my reply email be forwarded to the new follower? Or is there another way I can respond to new followers? Thanks. Couldn’t find this in HELP.

Have you thought about returning the favour and having a look at their blog? You can leave a message there.
Personally, I would feel quite uncomfortable about getting a personal email from a blog I had just begun following, but getting a comment on my blog would be perfectly fine.
You can find a link to your followers blogs when you click the follower link on the stats page.

My stats page. Thanks. I hadn’t thought of that. But do you know if I use the email reply button, where that email goes? Does it get forwarded to the follower or lost in cyberspace?

The email you get isn’t from the follower, it is from WP. I just looked at a recent follower email and the ‘from’ address is wordpress do not reply so I guess it will just go out into the ether.
