How to restore photos defaced by Photobucket?

I took the photos on my website myself and only used Photobucket years ago, to upload these. Is there any way I can delete the ugly white scrawls that Photobucket has defaced these with, along with their name which they splashed across most of my pictures?

    WP.com: Yes
    Correct account: Yes

    Hi there!

It looks like Photobucket doesn’t allow the hotlinking of images hosted on their servers, which is why they’re serving those images with a watermark. It’s not “defacing” as they have every right not to allow you to use their site’s bandwidth for images on your website – this is a common practice.

You would need to download any images from your Photobucket account that you’re using on your site, upload them to your media library, and update all the affected images on your site to use the URL of the file in your media library instead of the Photobucket URL.

    I hope that helps!
