how to retrieve a previous theme

I have made a mistake and changed the theme of my blog.

I do not know how to go back to the previous theme (it was cazlled Rubric).

Could you help me to go back to it?

It is important for me because Rubric has features that are usefull for a blog devoted to mathematics.

    Many thanks in advance.

  • Hi there. Unfortunately there’s no undo button for theme changes. That’s why it’s a good idea to have a test blog where you can try out new themes before you apply them to your actual blog. Keep that in mind for the future.

Rubric does not show up when I type it in the search box of the theme gallery, so I’m thinking it might be a retired theme. You might still be able to get it back because you’ve already used it, but I’m not sure. Search for it in the main theme gallery or in the customizer, but if you don’t find it there I don’t think you’ll be able to get it back.

Kookieh you are correct Rubric is a very old retired theme that does not support all WordPress.COM features. Provided you have used the theme on the exact same blog URL previously it will be available to you to use again at > Appearance > Themes. However, it will not be available for use on any blog it has not been used on before and the recommendation when using retired themes is to switch themes. https://rubricdemo.wordpress.com/

Many thanks to both of you!!!

My problem is fixed. Indeed, I found back both Rubric and the previous theme I used (Garland) but, in between, I switch to a new one that matches my purposes.

So, the problem is solved but, in view of your reactions, I will come back in case of any new difficulties!

    Regards,

    Pierre
