how to retrieve data from a WP database

    Hello forum,

    I have recently ‘burned’ my webhost provider as I messed up the ‘url’ of my WP webpage and they refused to help in any way, (it was time to change anyway).

    Before, leaving them, i downloaded everything that belonged to me; that is, my DB, all my file, plugins, etc.

    Now, i have started to rebuild my webpage with the new webhost and I know that a new DB has been created for me where I will be storing the new WP data. I am not much interested in 90% of the old page’s content as I can reproduce it; the only data that I REALLY would like to be able to retrieve is the customer’s comments (more than 100 which, for a small business such as the one i am running, it’s very important).

    I have:

    • the full backup of the (old) mysql DB,
    • the complete WP (old) directory,
    • all plugin directories and files.

    I would be grateful, if anyone could give me a few pointers on how to retrieve those comments.
